BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Charles Dickens’s classic story of redemption and joy comes to life in the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s newest adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ onstage from November 25th until December 28th. Packed with live music, puppets, and faces both new and familiar, this fresh adaptation by Aaron White will be a joyful way to celebrate the holidays.

BTE’s newest Resident Acting Company member, Aaron White, both adapts and directs this season’s show. Andrew Hubatsek, Resident Acting Company member, features as the ever-dour Ebenezer Scrooge, with fellow members Elizabeth Dowd and Daniel Roth playing various roles. In addition, guest artists Abigail Leffler (BTE’s Education Director), Tanner Lenhart, Kimie Muroya, and Michael Covel return to our stage. New faces also join the adult actors; Robert Barkley and Rebecca Thomas will join us for the first time.

Many community cast members round out the production. BTE is pleased to have onstage Kyla Brookhart, Ben Crane, Grace Dickermen, Jack Dickerman, Emma Endress, Ethan Hommel, Abby Knoebel, Shaela McCrone, Lauren Rovito, Marie Saracoglu, Henry Turnbough, Blessing Zerbe, and Julius Zerbe. Audiences may recognize many of these talented young actors from previous roles, including this past summer’s ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.’

BTE is proud to host our annual Food Preview on November 25th at 2:00pm. Patrons can see the show with the donation of canned and non-perishable food items. This performance is an excellent opportunity for our community to enjoy live theatre at no cost! All donations benefit the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard and the families it serves.

On Saturday, November 26th, BTE will have a 2pm Preview performance, followed by our Opening Night show at 7:30pm. ‘A Christmas Carol’ will then run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm.

In addition, we have added performances at 7:30pm on Wednesday, December 21st, and Monday, December 22nd through Wednesday, December 28th. There are no performances on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
