Odyssey

Carver Hall

What will you do to go home again? Lisa Peterson’s adaptation of The Odyssey brings new life to this ancient epic. Four young women trapped in the limbo of a refugee camp retell Odysseus’ adventures as they struggle with their own search for a home. A production based on the revelatory new translation by Emily Wilson, its bold theatricality brings new humor and grace to a story we all think we know.


Modern Warrior LIVE
November 17 at 7:30 P.M.

Modern Warrior LIVE is an immersive music and narrative experience that chronicles the story of US Army veteran Jaymes Poling and his journey through three deployments in Afghanistan and subsequent transition back home. Narrated by Poling, this autobiographical production weaves together his story with a cast of world-class artists in multiple genres led by internationally-acclaimed trumpeter Dominick Farinacci. This production shares a personal and emotional journey of the challenges of military service and the experience veterans face when they return back home, and it is a catalyst for meaningful conversation about mental health.


Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute to Elton John: Elton Comes Home for the Holidays

An Arts in Bloom fan-favorite, Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute  to Elton John, are coming home to Bloomsburg for the holidays!   Doug Delescavage is Elton John as he was in his 20’s, full of joy  and unlimited energy, commanding his top-notch band through  all the hits of Elton’s career. We’re ready to get festive with Doug, the band, and special guests including BU Alumni and  Commonwealth University resident producers. Don’t miss this high energy show featuring legendary Elton John tunes and rock  and roll holiday classics!



 

Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra: A Valentine’s Event
February 16 at 7:30 P.M.

Founded in 1892 as Guards Symphony Orchestra, in 1938 after fusion with the Academic Symphony Orchestra transformed into Royal Military Symphony Orchestra, after 1945 the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra became the national orchestra of Bulgaria and has long established itself as one of the leading cultural institutions, representative of the overall contemporary musical culture of the country.


International Guitar Night

For the 24th annual tour, Brian Gore has assembled a lineup of three IGN favorites and an exciting newcomer. Luca Stricagnoli (Italy), the amazing acoustic rock interpreter, will be returning for the 4th time. The Le THU (Vietnam), whose nylon string artistry stretches from classical to contemporary.  Marco Pereira (Brazil), the master composer and performer, first toured with IGN in its early days and returns for his final go-round in 2024. Minnie Marks (Australia), the irrepressible blues slide guitarist and singer, not only is new to IGN but will be making her North American debut.


RUBBERBAND: Trenzado
March 23 at 7:30 P.M.

In Trenzado, American citizen of Mexican heritage and Canadian choreographer Victor Quijada revisits a certain nostalgia in order to push his creative language further. Built upon the themes of roots, boundaries, homeland and loss, the piece explores our physical and emotional limits when we face removal from home, lost connections, and reconstruction. It also addresses the hopes that come with starting new.

iLuminate has been a household name since we were called “The BEST NEW ACT in America!” during our run on America’s Got Talent in 2011. Maybe you saw us on TV or heard about us through one of our international appearances or saw our Live show in the heart of New York City. No matter how you found us, we’re just glad you did! iLuminate is a company based on the fusion of technology and dance. This distinct intermix will reawaken your senses and imagination! We are a diverse team of experts and together we create a visual experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
