The Bloomsburg Children’s Museum, 2 W. 7th Street, Bloomsburg, is pleased to announce its summer camps for 2021. The Children’s Museum follows the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s guidelines for COVID mitigation. Masks are required for entry for anyone over the age of 2. Summer Camps for 2021 are as follows:
Snack Attack Camp
June 14-18; 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Ages 6-12, $80/student
During this week-long camp, campers will learn about some easy (and healthy) snack hacks. Campers will learn about each section of the MyPlate food guide and make and take yummy treats each day. Campers will also learn about the science behind some of your favorite foods.

Painting & Drawing I Camp
June 21-25; 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Ages 6-12, $80/student
Young artists will scribble, splatter, and create! This camp is all about learning how to draw and paint. From using teeny tiny to larger than life, we will be exploring every surface using brushes, pencils, and the unexpected! Presented by Art Space member and artist, Sara Mika. Two dates, same great camp!

Preschool Under the Sea Camp
June 28-July 2; 10-11:00 a.m.
Ages 2-5, $60/student
Join the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum this summer and dive right into this summer camp. Preschool campers will dip their toes in the sea, explore the depths of the ocean, make friends with a squid and cuddle an octopus…without even getting wet or jumping into a submarine! Every day will be an exploration of a different part of our beautiful oceans and the creatures that live there!

Fine Arts Mini Camp
June 28-30; 2-4:00 p.m.
Ages 13+, $80/student
Students will get individualized instruction in fine art techniques. The camp will start off with an introduction to drawing and shading with different types of pencils and techniques for shading. Students will be asked to stop and think about what they are drawing while learning about blind contouring and then try their hand at India ink rapid drawing!

Enchanted Princess Mini Camp
July 7-9; 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Ages 6-10
Dreams will come true this summer at our mini camp perfect for the princess in your life with all kinds of royal activities. Each day will focus on a different favorite princess as our campers enjoy a week of singing and dancing along with tea parties, arts & crafts, and making new friends. A fun and magical week will all lead up to a coronation ceremony. Your little one’s fairy tale summer camp is just around the corner!

Maker Camp
July 19-23; 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Ages 6-14, $80/student
What do soldering, 3D printing, sculpture, electronics, painting, laser cutting, food, and hammers all have in common? MAKER CAMP! Makers will explore, experiment and play. They are inquisitive hands-on learners who like to try new things! Ages grouped by activity. Taught by Dr. Ginny Weibel and Dr. Kristene Baldwin.

American Girl Summer Camp
July 26-30; 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Ages 6-12, $80/student
Campers and their dolls (any kind of doll or stuffed animal) will discover adventures a-plenty in this camp full of miniature projects and friendship. Ends with an American Girl Party.

Preschool Forest Fun
August 2-5; 9-10:00 a.m.
Ages 2-5, $60
Join Miss Dianne this summer and explore the forest around us with this Montessori School-based preschool camp! This summer camp is all about empowering children to be children! Nature brings inspiration for all types of art forms. We’ll dive into a number of different ways to express ourselves: painting, drawing, music, and more, all using natural materials and inspired by the forest around us.

Build a Board Game Mini Camp
August 2-4; 1-3:00 p.m.
Ages 8-14, $70
Playing board games is fun, develop focus, memory, planning, strategy, and teamwork. This camp will help you learn about various kinds of games and strategies for playing. In addition to playing existing games and create your very own to take home with you at the end of camp. Use our 3D printers or our laser cutter to make your game pieces, design your own board and rules, and make something you can share with your whole family!

Stop Motion Animation Camp
August 9-13, 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Ages 6+, Free
Learn the art of stop motion animation with the materials of your choice. Choose Legos, clay or anything else you can put your hands on. You’ll have the chance to make more than one film so you can try them all. As you build with Legos and sculpt with clay, you’ll be learning the basics of stop motion animation, fluid movement, dramatic structure, how to score your film and share it with the world. Digital Arts Camp
August 9-13; 1-3:00 p.m.
Ages 8+, Free
Can’t decide whether you like animation, film, or robotics best? Then try Digital Arts. This camp is Box Of Light’s digital smorgasbord. Every day has a different challenge. We’ll cover Claymation, green screen, film, digital books, and robotics. Sculpt, build, film, program, and hang with your tribe. Maybe one of these processes will be your future career. POLICIES:
2021 Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel at least two weeks before the first day of camp, you will receive a full refund, minus the processing fees. If you cancel less than two weeks before the first day of camp, you will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be given if you cancel after camp has begun.

2021 Sibling Policy:
An adult is required to chaperone each preschool camper. Only registered campers are allowed in the camp. Infants, toddlers, and older siblings may not come to camp. Childcare with an additional adult must be arranged for infants, toddlers, and older siblings that would like to visit the museum.

In order to maintain a safe public space for our guests and comply with our community standards, masks are required for entrance to the Museum. The Children’s Museum has increased sanitation of all touchable surfaces, removed many loose exhibit pieces to reduce touchable surfaces, instituted “Discovery Bags” to still allow hands-on participation for individual learners, and increased air exchange in the Museum.
