Destination Blues Listening Room with JP Williams
September 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT$5.00
The JP Williams Blues Band performs electric and acoustic Blues, Chicago and Delta style, in numerous solo and group configurations in Northeastern PA. Joining JP on the stage tonight, Eddie TheHarp and Ekat Pereyra.
JP first started performing acoustic Folk and Blues music in college coffee houses and local nightclubs in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He then moved to New York City, where he performed for several years at many famous nightclubs with other aspiring singer/songwriters and musicians. He continued to write songs and perform after moving back to Pennsylvania, as a solo act and with many successful local bands. After many years, he ceased performing to concentrate on his business and family. In early 2014, he decided that it was time to once again pursue the music that he loved. Now he performs regularly with an extraordinary group of talented musicians.
JP does not try to mimic or duplicate others’ performances but creates his own original music, as well as new interpretations of the iconic recordings of the roots of Chicago, Delta, and Country Blues. His exciting live performances and studio recordings yield the unique experience that is “JP Williams Blues”.
As part of its mission to bring the arts to all communities throughout our region, The Exchange hosts the Blues Listening Room in its storefront art gallery at 24 East Main Street in Bloomsburg on the last Wednesday of every month, from 7 to 9 p.m., as regional Blues and Americana musicians perform in our intimate space, up close and personal. We feature a range of acts – solo artists and small bands, acoustic and electric – in an atmosphere conducive to enjoying and experiencing the music: just a few dozen concertgoers, the musician(s), and the music.
As always, BYOB permitted at the performance. Doors open at 6:30.
