Bloomsburg, PA – May 1, 2024 – Experience the emotional power of Sharr White’s Annapurna brought to life by the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. This deeply moving yet delightfully clever play, directed by Resident Acting Company member Aaron White, features a stage reunion of real-life married couple Elizabeth Dowd and Rand Whipple.

After two decades apart, Emma (Dowd) seeks out Ulysses (Whipple) in a desolate trailer park for one final confrontation. Their encounter unfolds into a raw and gripping exploration of enduring love, punctuated by the complexities of life and loss. Annapurna strips theatre down to its core—two people, one room, and a dialogue that will leave you breathless.

Renowned for his witty dialog and insightful character development, Sharr White crafts a narrative that resonates deeply with audiences of all backgrounds. Annapurna is a testament to his ability to navigate the intricacies of the human experience with nuance and authenticity.

This production will honor the illustrious 45 year career of Elizabeth Dowd in her final mainstage performance as full-time company member. Dowd will be joined onstage by her husband and BTE founding member, Rand Whipple, adding a layer of authentic intimacy to this already powerful production.
