BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – A special “food preview” on Friday, November 24th at 2 pm, a tribute to WVIA and BTE on Sunday, November 26th at 3 pm and a sensory friendly performance on Saturday, December 2nd at 1 pm have been added to the regularly scheduled performances of Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s A Christmas Story*. A Christmas Story* is a holiday favorite for the whole family! Young Ralphie's Christmas quest for a coveted Red Ryder BB gun turns into a lesson about what can happen when you finally get what you ask for! Hilarious and heartwarming – your favorite moments from the beloved film are captured on stage to share with a new generation.

As much a tradition as its annual family friendly holiday show, BTE’s food preview opens its doors to patrons
who bring a food donation as admission to the November 24 th 2 pm performance. Donations should be non-perishable and will be delivered by BTE to the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard.

On Sunday, November 26th, Chris Norton from WVIA will be BTE’s guest as WVIA celebrates its 50 th anniversary and presents a plaque to BTE in appreciate of its decades of arts leadership in our region and the strong partnership between the two organizations.

Saturday, December 2nd features the Kathy Baas Sensory Friendly performance at 1 pm. Although open to all, a sensory-friendly performance is intentionally modified to accommodate patrons who experience heightened sensory input, who experience anxiety, have dementia or learning differences, or who are on the autistic spectrum.  These adjustments often come in the form of lowered decibel levels for sound cues, a quiet place if a patron becomes overwhelmed, and visual cues before the start of action that may be disconcerting.
