Local non-profits announce collaboration on two annual programs

For the first time, the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum and the Bloomsburg YMCA will be coordinating together for “Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire” and “Healthy Kids Day” on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire is an annual event where people of all ages can show what they are able to make and share what they are learning. The purpose is to expose attendees to skills they have never seen or tried before, whether they’re cutting edge, centuries-old, or anywhere in between. Healthy Kids Day is a national event held by the YMCA promoting healthy habits in young children.

The event will be held at the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum located on 2 W 7th St, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 and the YMCA parking lot across the street from the Museum. The combined event is free to attend with no registration required.

Olivia Mussare an intern at the Children’s Museum says she’s excited to partner up with the YMCA for the events.

“I am beyond excited for these 2 events and have loved my experience especially because event planning is what I would love to do after college!”

Wayne Stump, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bloomsburg YMCA was also thrilled to partner with the Children’s Museum for this event. He says the events will provide a great opportunity for children and families in the area to come together and experience all the community has to offer.

“The YMCA believes in the potential of all children, and we strive to help kids find that potential within themselves.” Stump also stated “when a child is healthy, happy and supported they can make things happen.”
