Let’s Rock! Geology Day

Sunday, March 13th, 12-3:00 p.m.

Learn about a variety of rocks, minerals, and fossils through viewing our collections, hands-on activities, and talking to experts. Hunt fossils, explore the coal mine, identify rocks, mine gems, dinosaur encounter, rock tumbling, make jewelry and much more!

BloomCON Hak4Kidz

Saturday, March 26th, 10-4:00 p.m.

Ethical hackers, information security professionals, and educators will bring the benefits of white hat hacking to the children and young adults at the conference. The conference features guest speakers, workshops, and STEM workstations. Attendees have a chance to win prizes, expand their knowledge, and explore the world of hacks!

General admission tickets are free to this event. There is a limited number of swag bag tickets that get you general admission and a swag bag!

On March 5th, 1963 the Hula Hoop was patented. Join us as we learn about this hip-swiveling toy that became a huge fad across America when it was first marketed by Wham-O. Included in Museum admission.

Celebrate Plant a Flower Day

Join the Museum to learn about the life cycle of plants. Students will create their own window greenhouse. Included with Museum admission.

Exhibits Come to Life: Passage to Pennsylvania

Join us to learn about immigration in the 1800’s with activities, crafts all while exploring this exhibit. Have you ever wondered why the Statue of Liberty is green? Complete an experiment to find out why! Students will make an immigration journal, make a Statue of Liberty crown and torch, and create a suitcase. Included with Museum admission.

Kids in the Kitchen-Pierogi

Get your fingers ready to pinch this traditional Polish goodie! Join Kim from Pierogi by Kim to stuff, pinch and cook your own pierogis you can eat! Students will make their own half a dozen 3 cheese mashed potato pierogis. Ages 6+, adults welcome!

Paint Me a Story

This festive story takes us through 12 busy days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. We will be creating a HUGE rainbow with paint and sparkly gold glitter and the greenest shamrocks there ever were– all perfect for the luckiest holiday.

This story time-art-studio-mashup is a whole lot of fun for your little ones, ages 2-6. Storytime ignited preschoolers’ imaginations for creating hands-on art activities exploring colorful book themes and characters.
