The event runs from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th, through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th.

For the sixth year, The Exchange will take part in our region’s largest one-day fundraising event, Raise the Region, sponsored by the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania.

Thanks to a generous donation from Blaise Alexander Dealerships, your on-line gift to The Exchange between 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th, and 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th will get s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d with match dollars — so whatever you give, we will receive even more!

In addition to the stretch donation, businesses including Blaise Alexander, Larson Design Group, and UPMC have all given additional donations to get used as prizes throughout the 30-hour period — some given out randomly, others for meeting particular criteria (such as Toyota’s Fast Start Prize, $1,000 to the nonprofit with the most money raised between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on March 13th).  For the complete list of prizes, click here.

THANK YOU for your donation that makes possible everything that we do!

What does The Exchange do with your donation?

— $15 supports an Art Cart visit to a day camp.  The Art Cart served more than 7000 people, from preschoolers to senior citizens, in 2018.

— $25 supports on-line promotion of an Exchange event.  Our Listening Rooms draw music lovers from throughout our region and musicians from as far as Italy.

— $50 covers the cost of another non-profit’s booth at August’s ArtFest.  Our partners have included the United Way of Columbia and Montour Counties, Columbia Child Development Program, Fishing Creek Watershed Association, and others.

— $100 pays for entertainment at a Gallery reception.  Musicians have included students at a music school in Bloomsburg and local singer-songwriters.

— $250 pays for a Listening Room musician.  So far, we have hosted 20 of these intimate concerts, and at least half a dozen of our performers have competed at the International Blues Challenge, one of the most prestigious such events in the world.

— $500 covers half the cost of our on-line presence for a year.  From our weekly ArtOfPa.org e-mails to maintenance ofExchangeArts.org andDestinationblues.org, the Internet allows us to extend our reach across the world; our “Experimental Video” show in the Gallery attracted work by artists from 30 countries.

— $1000 covers the cost of a “Backstage Pass to the Blues” presentation.  In three years, we have gone to more than a dozen schools in four counties, teaching more than 4000 students where their music comes from.

— And of course any amount you give helps us maintain the Exchange Gallery, in which more than 500 artists of all ages and levels of experience have shown their work — and sold their work: The “art world” does not only exist in a high-falutin gallery in Soho, New York, but right here on Main Street in Bloomsburg.

With all of these programs, and more, we bring the arts to communities through-out our region.  And all with your support.

THANK YOU.
