The artists from Artspace wanted to remind everyone of a schedule change for their upcoming reception for “Club Soda.” In order to not compete with the Destination Blues Fest, they move the opening which was scheduled for Saturday, March 2, to Friday, March 1 from 6-8pm.

“Club Soda” is a group of ceramicists from Williamsport, Danville and surrounding areas. The group does their firings at Deb and Dave Stabley’s house, using an old gas kiln of Todd Jeffreys that Dave refurbished. The soda firing process involves injecting a soda ash solution into the kiln when it reaches 2250 degrees F. The soda ash forms a vapor that coats everything in the kiln with a glaze. The effects are somewhat unpredictable and exciting.  The work in the exhibit will include both sculptural and functional forms.

The show runs from Thurs. Feb 28 through Sun. April 14th. The opening reception will be FRIDAY March 1, 2019, 6-8PM.
